Ken has a degree in Health Services Administration and has crafted a specialization in advanced practice nursing. He consistently serves as an unwavering advocate and leader in the business of advance practice nursing since 1999.
He has developed and provided best practices leadership in practice management. He represents and supports physician and advanced practice nursing as a business partner in “attending to the business of advanced practice nursing.”
Ken is goal-driven, proactive, and highly effective in practice redesign, building teams and creating practice models that promote operational efficiency to enable revenue growth in a value-based reimbursement environment.
The quality of Ken’s support and ability to make a difference from a business perspective in advance practice nursing is evident through the continued generation of business from referrals and recommendations given from current clients, peers and colleagues familiar with his firms work and proven outcomes.
Ken’s clients recognize and value his in-depth knowledge of advanced practice nursing, the healthcare market as it relates to advanced practice nursing and his approach to secure a successful organizational structure necessary for financial viability and sustainability.
Ken’s expertise earned him a position as adjunct faculty with the University of Texas Health Science Center, School of Nursing at Houston as an Instructor of Clinical Nursing in the Department of Acute & Continuing Care. Ken is also appointed with Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey School of Nursing – Camden where he is the named instructor in the nursing graduate (doctorate/DNP) program three (3) credit course titled Financial Management in Healthcare (58:705:606).
Ken has worked with faculty and American Association of Nurse Practitioner Fellows in the publication of articles focused on the business of advanced practice nursing. His most recent being titled “Acute care nurse practitioner billing model development” published in the Clinical Scholars Review: The Journal of Doctoral Nursing Practice.
Ken has been a recognized and repeat speaker with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing both at the masters and doctorate level as well as sponsored speaker with American College of Healthcare Executives.
With expertise in management and business processes, Ken is retained by hospitals and health systems in support of their advanced practice inpatient nursing programs seeking help to further define service lines generate revenue for service and embrace the role in educating physicians on how to work alongside the advanced practice nurse.
Ken is the President of Health Associates, Inc. as well as a Managing Partner with Healthcare Revenue Group, LLC, a partnership between Health Associates Inc. and a healthcare private equity firm.
